Cell Theory

In the nearly 400 years since Robert Hooke identified the cell, the work of other scientists led to the development of the Cell Theory.

The Cell Theory states three points:

1. All living things are made up of cells.

2. Cells are the basic unit of structure and function in all living organisms.

3. All cells come from pre-existing cells.
